We are currently looking for someone to join our team as a Support Worker For Local Family
Looking for a young support worker/mentor to work with a delightful young man in his 20’s who lives in the city of Joondalup area.
He loves Public Transport and going for long rides on trains and buses.
He is very kind & caring and is happy to greet and have a chat with most people he meets in the community.
The right candidate will have a good sense of humour and help to ensure the young adult continues to develop important life skills.
The successful applicant would initially work a mix of weekday and or weekend shifts where we all work together to accommodate a good work/life balance.
Our vision for the person to join our support team, is someone who is a caring, responsible, adult who serves as a trusted friend/mentor.
You will become part of a small team of happy and dedicated staff who support each other and the young adult collectively, so as to give the best possible support.
The role requires assisting the young man with all his daily living needs, which include but are not limited to personal care, general domestic duties, exercising and exploring his immediate and wider community. Providing care, innovative ideas (thinking outside the box), companionship, emotional support, supervision, personal support and guidance.
You may also work alongside health professionals to maximise the young adults physical and mental wellbeing.
Work will be in and out of the home to promote independence and community participation.
Support staff are well taken care of because the support staff role with this family ensures that the family have peace of mind around the care of their loved one. Staff are supported with relevant information, training, guidance and buddy shifts with other team members to start you on a fulfilling journey through caring.
You will be employed directly by the family and require a WWC clearance, Police Clearance and reliable car with full comprehensive insurance.
Wages and conditions are considered quite generous and the family is welcoming and supportive.
